On September 12, 2004, members of the Whonnock United Church celebrated the 90th birthday of their church. Here are the organizers.
On September 26, 2004 visitors to Whonnock Lake Day enjoyed a presentation by the youngest of the Stave Falls Scottish Dancers.
On August 3rd, 2005 postmaster Sue Schulze, celebrated the 120th year of Whonnock’s post office with an "open house", serving coffee and cake. The first postmaster, Noble Oliver, was nominated on August 1st 1885. Whonnock's post office is the oldest in the District of Maple Ridge.
On 3 April, 2005 at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Noreen Woods, president of the Whonnock Community Association, thanked Jo-Ann Bakker, manager of Whonnock Lake Centre for all what she has done and is doing for the community and the Association “above and beyond her duties.

March 2006 Whonnock Community Association – Margaret Norman receives a Volunteer Recognition Award.
2006 The yearly Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Whonnock Community Association drew quite a crowd in spite of cool and rainy weather.
April 2006, Mrs. Peletier's class visited the Post Office and the Cemetery. May 2006, Nancy (Lee) Webster at the CHC plaque unveiling ceremony at the Lee cemetery. July 2006, Christopher Garrish and his wife Heather Quinn, took time to visit Whonnock Lake Centre. For many years Christopher maintained our Website for us.

Whonnock Brownies decorated a Christmas tree at the Centre as they do each year for the Xmas party for the children from Russia & Kazakhstan. Little Alyx won a basketful of goodies at the WCA annual Easter Egg Hunt on 23 March 2008. The Fraser Valley Rhododendron Society, sponsored by the WCA, held its annual show and sale at Whonnock Lake Centre on 27 April 2008. Click here for a picture gallery.

Volunteers of the year 2008. The Whonnock Community Association distunguished Yukiko Tanaka (above) and Rick Hammer for their services to the community. Postmaster Sue and her sidekick Teresa with the piles of parcels filling Whonnock's tiny postoffice at Christmas.time. A BC Hydro power spike on 17 November 2009 brought considerable property loss to more than 150 Whonnock households.
